Founded in 1982, CIWC has over 150 members. CIWC is a non-profit volunteer-run club organized for the purpose of providing affordable wilderness adventures. Each year CIWC conducts trips ranging in length from 1 to 10 days to destinations as diverse as southern Indiana, the Grand Canyon, and the Smokey Mountains. We have trips for beginners and those with lots of outdoor experience. On a CIWC trip you will have the opportunity to explore new places and meet new friends. Our trips are small and friendly, averaging eight people per trip, normally organized by a CIWC member. Our membership includes members who vary widely in age, experience and ability.

Backpacking Bicycling Camping Canoeing Cross-Country Skiing Hiking Rafting Spelunking Cost of the trip includes transportation in the clubs 12-passenger van, breakfast, dinner, tents (for 2 or 3 people), water filter, stoves and cooking utensils. All you need is your personal gear. Participants will be required to assist with carrying club equipment and food and participants are expected to help with chores such as setting up camp, cooking, and cleaning up.
